2020 Hyundai Sonata

The redesigned 2020 Hyundai Sonata has already started to trigger a great deal of excitement. Hyundai’s popular midsize sedan benefits from a long list of improvements. Its new coupe-like styling has received a standing ovation from car enthusiasts. A wider stance and lower profile help give the next-generation Sonata a commanding road presence. You’ll especially notice the Sonata’s new Hidden Lighting Lamps, which look stunning at night and during the day. Some of the exclusive colors include Glowing Yellow, Calypso Red, and Shimmering Silver Pearl.

What's New for the 2020 Hyundai Sonata?

Performance and Design

When shopping for a new 2020 Hyundai Sonata, you’ll have two new engines to choose from. The base power source is a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine. It’s rated to produce a competitive 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. In contrast to much of the competition, Hyundai equips the new Sonata with a conventional eight-speed automatic transmission opposed to a CVT that equates to a more responsive performance on the road. Steering-wheel-mounted paddles add to the fun. If you desire more excitement while behind the wheel, step up to the turbocharged four-cylinder engine of the Hyundai Sonata and the output stands at 180 horsepower and a significant 195 pound-feet of torque.

Great interior space makes the Sonata a perfect fit for a family of five. Available heated and ventilated front seats further enhance the sedan’s everyday comfort. As expected, Hyundai offers the latest Sonata with a long list of premium features. A new “Digital Key” enables you to remotely perform vehicle functions with your smartphone, including starting the engine and unlocking the doors. While Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard on every trim, you can upgrade to a 10.2-inch touchscreen with navigation. Other highlights include a powerful Bose sound system, a heads-up color display, and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster.

Safety and Entertainment

Very few sedans in the segment will offer such a secure ride. Active safety technologies, like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with pedestrian detection and smart cruise control, come standard. You can also take advantage of the sedan’s all-new Remote Smart Parking Assist system. Even if you’re standing outside of the vehicle, this intelligent system can automatically park the Sonata in suitable spaces. Hyundai also welcomes a new Blind-spot View Monitor. Left- and right-side cameras enable the system to display vehicles hidden in your blind spot.
